WHY HARFA SPORT TEAM?

We focus on the all-round development of children and youth

The aim of the section is not primarily to educate every child a champion, but to motivate children to play sports in a fun way and to show them that it is possible to spend free time even without a phone. We are a multi-sport club, so children will gradually learn to ride (technically correctly) on a bike, swim, run, cross-country ski and also speed kayak. Gradually, they will try many sports that are important for the development of children and will have a physical basis for the future when they choose a sport that they want to do more.

 

Why Harfa sport team?

 

I started triathlon around the age of 16. Before that I swam with fins, ran and also liked to ride a bike. Then the older brother discovered the triathlon and it was decided!

In the first season, I started winning races thanks to a decent swimming and running base, and of course I enjoyed it. I was very lucky then that I started training in the TT Centrum section of Franta Vítek, where we were trained by former top swimmer and Olympian Irena Svobodová / for free Fleissnerová / Thanks to this section and her approach, we had joint training in swimming, cycling and running. This helped me to be one of the best teenagers and juniors in the Czech Republic 8th at the European Championships in triathlon.

Today I know that this well-chosen preparation and gradual dosing of training doses + a good group in the team gave me the basis, thanks to which I was later able to make it a little higher in triathlon.

Now it is my duty to start passing on my experience and to teach what worked for me to other children who will be worth it. I myself have accomplished what I could in sports and now is the time to train future generations of athletes.

What does the harfasport team do?


SWIMMING


The goal is to get a feel for water. If the children get it, it is won. Many adults who did not swim in their youth and have no sense of water will never swim effectively and will always wash more with water than to swim effectively. That is why, in my opinion, it is important to teach children to swim in the crawl and other swimming methods at this age. We start with complete beginners (they must be able to swim) and after a short time the children will be able to swim by crawl so that their parents will no longer be able to chase them. In addition to swimming in the pool (Na Třebešíně - morning training) and Radotín, we will also swim outside in the summer (Biotope, various ponds)

CYCLING


The goal of cycling training is to teach children to ride a bicycle technically. Children can use a mountain bike or a road bike, while learning to ride a bike technically, to handle off-road riding, to be able to shift properly, pedal and feel confident on a bike. From a sports point of view, it is more about playing and thanks to longer continuous rides, children will build an aerobic base, from which they will benefit in other sports. We will teach children that they always ride a bike with a helmet and in cycling clothes, and they will also gradually learn to ride in a group of other cyclists.

RUNNING


The aim of running trainings is to learn to run technically and, above all, to motivate people to run in a fun way. Thanks to a group of children and mutual competition, it is going very well. You can run everywhere. But we will use the bike paths around Radotín and also the athletic track, which we have a few meters next to the pool.

KAYAK


Like the feeling for water in swimming, kayaking is about balance training. If children learn it in their youth, it will make a lot of other sports easier for them at a later age. In addition, the kayak is an excellent and comprehensive training for the upper half of the body, so it is a welcome diversion and complement.

CROSS COUNTRY SKIING


In the winter months, we will also include cross-country skis in our training, and the goal is to teach children the basics of cross-country skiing. The smaller ones with a classic style, the larger ones also with skating.

GYM 


In the winter we include a gym in our trainings, where we play team games, but we also strengthen and we have a great accessory for swimming and running trainings.

 

In addition to the above-mentioned sports, we often also choose specific trainings that I have been wearing since I was a junior and thanks to which I was one of the best competitors in the Czech Republic at a similar age as today's older children.


TRANSITION TRAINING


During the training, the children go to the 100m swimming-3 km bike and 500 m run several times in a row to get used to this specific movement and also to practice changing and working in the depots.

SWIMMING IN OPEN WATER

If you want to race well in triathlon, you have to be well prepared. Now I don't mean it only physically, but also mentally. therefore, we often go swimming in open water so that children get used to orienting themselves outside and do not have problems with it during the race.Round-run transitions


BIKE-RUN TRANSITION

We go to these crossings at the athletic stadium, and each competitor has a bicycle trainer next to the athletic track, thus combining cycling with a change of shoes and subsequent running.

 

WHO IS THE SECTION SUITABLE FOR?


The section is divided into two categories of children:

Younger children (approx. 5-10 years)

For these children, sport is mainly a game. They will learn to swim in all swimming styles, run properly technically, ride a bike and acquire general basics of movement. If they want to, they can participate in races and competitions. But the goal is to play and have fun with sports.

Older children (approx. 10-15 years)

The group of older children is already somewhere else. They are very physically fit, they have no problem training every day and often also race very successfully. The goal of these children is performance growth, but not at any cost. They will swim, run, ride a bike and race a lot. They often go to sports elementary schools, where they do athletics or swimming. Unfortunately, triathlon is currently not available anywhere. For these children, it is already possible to apply more demanding training with the aim of successfully performing sports puberty without wanting to quit the sport.

How much training does it cost


The monthly flat rate from September 2020 is set at CZK 2,000 per month

This price includes pool rentals, a gym, an athletic oval and coaching guidance.

In addition, older competitors who are already using the sportster for training will be under coach supervision via the TrainingPeaks application, thus reducing the risk of overtraining.
